What is Crocodoc?
Crocodoc takes any PDF, Word document, PowerPoint presentation, image, or web page and lets you view and mark it up online. Documents can be shared with others, who can collaboratively highlight or strikeout text, add notes and comments, and make revisions. All files are stored securely on our servers, and can be password protected and encrypted for maximum security.
For more information about Crocodoc, see our About Us page.
Are my documents kept private?
Documents uploaded to Crocodoc are assigned a unique, unguessable URL (e.g. http://crocodoc.com/gQlo2g), which you can selectively share with others you wish to collaborate with.
Do I need to create an account in order to use Crocodoc?
No. Anyone can use Crocodoc to upload, view, and share their documents. By signing up for free account, we keep track of a list of your documents and let you upload larger files (up to 20MB).
Is Crocodoc really free?
Anyone can use Crocodoc to upload, view, and share their documents for free. There is no charge for our basic service -- you don't even have to create an account with us!
For users who require enhanced security and document management tools, you can sign up for an account.
Can I view a list of all documents I've uploaded?
Yes. By signing up for a free Crocodoc account, we'll keep track of a list of all your documents. Users with an account can view a list of their documents by going to the My Documents page.
If you choose not to sign up for a Crocodoc account, you'll have to keep track of your documents on your own. (Don't worry -- you can simply bookmark important documents in your web browser!)
Can I save a document in PDF format after I mark it up in Crocodoc?
Yes. Crocodoc lets you download your documents as a PDF with all your annotations included. We use native PDF annotations types when possible and appropriate. To download your documents, use the "Print to PDF" button on our document viewer toolbar.
